Since July 2021, I have been a member of the pilot group of the Design Networking Hub. With the support of the German Federal Foreign Office, the German Design Museum Foundation together with the Kenya Design Society has founded the Design Networking Hub, a knowledge and networking platform to support German-Kenyan cooperation projects. Within this framework ten young designers from Kenya and Germany have been selected to work together on projects on the topics of housing, mobility and technology.
In the group on housing, we looked at homelessness in Kenya and Germany. We developed new ideas to deal with this challenging issue, taking into account the interviews we conducted with experts working in the field and people actually living on the streets.
In collaboration with Betty Wachera, Julita Bhagat, William Otuke and the German Design Museum Foundation
